Best Knife I've Ever Owned August 18, 2009 Paul R. Lape I found the Cybertool 29 while looking for a replacement for a cheap version of the same thing. The Victorinox knife is better made, lighter, thinner and fits in my pocket perfectly. The bit driver is the main selling point for the knife, even though the translucent colors are cool. The 4 included bits will fit about 90% of the screws you come across. Because the bit driver extends well past the knife, its perfect for working with recessed screws, something that most multi-function knives simply can't do. The pen is the perfect size for setting dip switches, but more frequently, unlocking bedroom doors, which is convenient for preventing the kids from letting the dogs out when company is over. The rest of the features (tweasers, toothpick, leather punch, cork screw, small glasses screwdriver, two blades, bottle opener, and can opener) are pretty standard for a Victorinox knife. They are all functional and well made. I've purchased 9 of these knives and have been giving them friends, missionaries, and recent college graduates. If you are going to carry a pocket knife, I would highly recommend the Victorinox Cybertool 29.
Great Job Victorinox March 28, 2009 Thomas C. Puckett III (Sacramento area, Ca) To start off with I have to say that Victorinox is very inovative when they keep coming up with different Swiss Army knives to fit many different uses. Where I work I am the day to day keeper of some 50 computers in a math lab type setup at a local community college. This little knife allows me to do nearly 100% of the computer repairs I need to do without going back in to the inner office and grabbing my tool kit and at home from trying to dig around the utility drawer to find the right screw drivers. Te barrel length is just the right ammount to reach in to and unscrew even the tallest of CPU fans from the MB. The only thing I would do differently if I was at Victorinox is to make the driver bits magnetic or to make this knife with the SwissFlash and a small white LED. The SwissFlash does come with the LED and makes another great cyber device.
If you already own another Swiss Army knife and are an IT tech or just enjoy working on or building your own computer this knife is great for you. No need for the other cybertool 34 and 41 knives unless you want to put aside your other knife. I personally carry an Old Swiss Champ that I have had for more the 20 years on my belt and this cybertool makes a nice addition. Now if they would only add their flash drive you would have a great cyber tool.
Great tool, but make sure you pick the "right" CyberTool February 1, 2009 E. Kim 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
Victorinox currently makes the CyberTool 29, CyberTool 34, CyberTool 41, and CyberTool Lite. The SwissChamp XLT and XAVT are also officially part of the "CyberTool" line from Victorinox.
The CyberTool 29 is by far the thinnest and lightest of the group, which makes it actually possible to pocket carry this tool. The four double-sided bits is what distinguishes the CyberTool models from the regular Victorinox Swiss Army Knives. (Note that the SwissChamp XAVT actually contains eight double-sided bits.) There are also additional bits which can be purchased from third party sources, such as SwissBianco.
If you absolutely need the scissors and pliers, which is quite possible when working with computers, then the CyberTool 34 will be the thinnest model to have those tools with the bits and driver. I found the CyberTool 34 still far too heavy for pocket carry.
The CyberTool 41 is the same as the CyberTool 34 with the addition of a woodsaw and metal file. This tool is for most people too heavy for pocket carry, and usually carried in a belt pouch or bag.
One of the least mentioned and discussed CyberTools is the "Lite" version which has a magnifying glass and small flashlight. Although not as popular in sales, this is a terrific version which allows you to use the flashlight while working inside a computer case and the magnifying glass could be useful for inspecting bent pins.
Whichever CyberTool you choose, you will want to be careful in not losing the bits, as the replacements for those are actually fairly expensive.
Great Multitool November 25, 2007 Danielsan I bought it since I work in IT, but am also a computer hobbyist at home. While it is not my primary computer tool, I keep it on me and it has come in handy quite frequently. The bits fit all standard screwheads, knives come in handy in more way than one, and it even has a bottle opener to pop the top on that post-shift beer. The pen has yet to dry out on me. And although I have not yet tried the corkscrew, it seems a bit too small to actually open a bottle of wine. Great little tool to have around for those computer geeks.
Made me far more productive July 4, 2007 Lazy Ninja (Sunderland, MA USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I am a mobile on-site technician for a local company called TechCavalry. This is probably the best purchase I ever made for a job tool. The only thing I use more on the job is a USB flash drive. This thing has almost every screw and tool I ever use, even has a pin I often use to open CD-Roms.
I recommend it highly! ^_^
